KAPLAN's diagnostic test!!!!!!!

Published

Hii everyone, I just finished my Diagnostic Test in Kaplan On demand which was 180 items And I got 105 which is 58.33%. What does this mean? I just started reviewing and had no review about MS yet and Some topics. Just the fundamentals of nursing. What do you think guys? I mean, its a lil bit sad because it is low and didnt get the 60%. It's kinda good because I said to myself that if I got 55% and above, its A LIL bit OKAY. since I have no content review yet. Just the basics(funda). What Im gonna do now is maybe focus on the areas that I usually got wrong and confused. Though I noticed that you dont need to know much of the pathophysiolgy of a certain disease, because it is mostly health teachings, priority and delgation. and some sign and symptoms. It's just u need to understand the disease itself and never memorize the patho since the exam would be at the analysis and APPLICATION level.

What do you think guys? IM gonna target the q trainers 65% maybe. but before that, im gonna review the content and answer questions before answering those trainers and readiness exam.

Just believe in HIM that you can. At first I was afraid to see my score in this diagnostic test below 45. It's possible because I havent reviewed most of the diseases but when I saw that it was 58. then I felt good. :) Everything is possible just have faith that you can make it.

And the moral lesson to this is: NEVER look into the score. the greater the mistakes the better since u are eager to know the rationales behind ur wrong answers so by that, u will be able to remember those mistakes number in which ure gonna learn more and understand more of the items. :)

I got 35% on my Diagnostic Test. :) Yup! I felt so stupid when I saw it. Been getting 50%-40% on my practice tests. Knowing all the nursing contents is a plus but IMO, knowing how to apply it in answering questions will save you from NCLEX. I took my exam without any knowledge in pharma and I just probably know 40% of the Nursing Contents but I was able to pass with 75 questions. :) So my advice is do what works for you and don't memorize. Read and understand the contents/rationale. And read success stories here in allnurses. It will motivate you to study harder.

Really? You don't advise memorization? There are so many meds I have no idea about and I'm trying to brush up on all the many lab values, as well as disease systems and using book recommendations I found in this forum. I have been out of nursing school ages ago but am testing again in June. If I pass I can have my RN status back. I have the smaller Kaplan: Strategies, Practice, and Review as well as studying with Saunders Comprehensive Review and though I haven't tried the big practice tests yet, I'm doing well with the sample chapter tests. Really, I'm trying to comprehend the material and assess the questions like Kaplan recommends (excellent!) and hoping it will guide me well. Mzoptimistic, sounds to me like you are right on with your study! Thanks all, for the encouragement!

Did anyone listen to Kaplan Content Lectures? did you find them helpful? was there enough information?

Hi umm i havent listened to the contents but i heard its good, im gonna supplement it with saunders and lacharity too. my resources are kaplan, saunders and lacharity :) how about you?

My sources are Kaplan, Saunders, Lacharity, and NCLEX the disaster prevention manual for nurses determined to pass the NCLEX (really good, complex questions)

You gotta understand the content and not memorize. Except for Spiderman, Mrs. Wee and My Chicken Hez TB! :)

I took the Kaplan Diagnostic test and scored a 73%. Am I in deep trouble for the NCLEX text? I am sooo worried that I'm not up to par for the test! Has anyone taken the Kaplan with this score and how did you do on the NCLEX?
