I took my second nclex 8/7 i get my results tomorrow I got 75q and the good pop up, but i know i personally searched these forms about kaplan and uworld. On my first attempt i ran out of time and did 224q i was near passing and above passing. i used Hurst the first attempt it was good content but i didnt feel like it helped me at all. I got a full refund and spent it on other programs.
Retake Plan: i thought i needed to learn how to speed up so i could answer questions faster so i bought Uworld and Kaplan and did 75q from each bank and reviewed rationals. I also used the 35 page study guide that is floating around on here.
Uworld: my ending average was 55% on my second attempt i had 1 question that was very close to uworld. I found that the rationals were very helpful in helping with content in general. i did 75q everyday for a month and wrote the rationals down and studied those. i was scoring ranges from 48%-70% why i found this one helpful was it had lots of alternate formats which does help you on NCLEX.
Kaplan: i did just the qbank and i bought the kaplan premier book and only read through it once. my overall ending qbank sore was 60% i was scoring ranges of 60%-68% my second attempt was more like answering kaplan questions. I personally felt i was doing a kaplan practice test and was shocked when it shut off at 75.
- i have been freaking out about the questions on my test but it mirrored kaplan questions which are all passing level which has made me feel better about it.
I personally think if you have a good understanding of the content then you should do questions to test your knowledge. Everyone learns in there own way and the i honestly think that the NCLEX so random. It just depends on what test you get. My first test was nothing like my second. Its be over 24 hours after my test and i am still getting the good pop up. BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS FORM IS ABOUT!

I did the Kaplan program in person. I had done well in nursing school and didn't like the decision tree. I would use parts of the tree process if I was stuck on a question but overall I used my own method.
Trainer 1 62.7
Trainer 2 74.7
Trainer 3 67
Trainer 4 60.7
Trainer 5 70.7
Trainer 6 61.5
Trainer 7 58.5
Readiness 70
Predictor 66
I did the whole Qbank with 64% overall
I did the entire Nclex mastery app full version with an overall 65%
and I used Uworld one week free trial and did around 600 questions with 63% overall
i took nclex RN yesterday. 75 questions 15 SATA, 2 med calculations, tons of priority and delegation.
Did the PVT after 24 hrs with a $5 visa gift card. Got the good pop-up. I was really nervous because I finished in a short amount of time, but I have always been the first to finish tests in class. I also felt the questions were pretty straight forward. I hope this is because I was well prepared. 😠I live in California so there's no quick results. Just anxiously waiting for my name to appear on BreEZe.
I would say you passed!!! I found out today through quick results i did pass!!! do the pop up at 24 hours and you will have your answer. I personally do not know anyone who did the PVT and it not work for them. Your test sounds just like mine.
Congrats!!! I'm so anxious! I probably won't get my results until after midnight on Monday. I feel pretty good about the test though.
It's official!!!! My license posted on th BreEZe website this morning!!!!! I'm an RN!

Thank you so much for posting your scores for nclex prep! I currently finished the Kaplan Online course, and averaged 65% on the qbank, then I started Uworld… with an average so far of 57%… the questions seem a bit more difficult than Kaplan's. I am scheduled to write next week, I just hope that I'm ready!
You're welcome! I really think the biggest part of this test is not letting your nerves get the best of you. It sounds like you are on the right track!

I'm so worried I've been studying Kaplan and averaging 65-70 and decided to try uworld and scoring 40-50 😩😩😩 nclex fast approaching... Should I be worried? I was feeling good with Kaplan but now I'm worried

Im also using Uworld, Question though, do you think its okay to spilt up questions throughout the day I.e. 50 in the am & another 50 in the pm. OR is it better to build stamina & do 100+ questions at a time.
Personally I feel I learn better if I do i.e. 50 question & read the rational and break instead of when I do 100 straight I slowly get tired and lose focus!
Also, those who have written beside infection control, what other areas in regards to content common on the nclex that I should focus on?
I'm scheduled to write in about 3 weeks!
Thanks in advance!

I don't think it matters as long as your are learning from the rationals. I personally split them up, doing some in the morning and some in the afternoon. That way I can give my focus on those fewer questions and really learn from them. Having stamina to answer a lot of questions in the NCLEX doesn't help much when you're not answering them correctly.
I had a lot of pharma, maternity, health education, and priority questions. I got a lot of "Which of these patients will you see first?" or "You have a staff education conference on ____, what will you include in your staff education?" But the NCLEX is adaptive if i'm not mistaken. And is going to question you on things it thinks you don't know.
Thank-You JPGASMIN,BSN
I will continue splitting them up, taking breaks and slowly increasing from 50 Q's in one sitting to say 75 if possible!
I'm using Hurst (for content) & La charity PDA aswell. I am averaging 65% overall in uworld, however I am slightly weak in the maternity area!
Considering trying the $50 online Qbank from Kaplan, but heard uworld is more challenging so I don't feel if there is a point.
Thank-You for your help! :)
