KAPLAN scores and passing NCLEX 2014

Published

Hi everyone

Here's how I passed the NCLEX using 100% Kaplan and 50% Saunders.

I graduated on the 28th of February but didn't start studying right away instead I went on a mini vacay for a week. When I came back I scheduled to take the exam within 5 weeks. I didn't enroll for the on site review, instead I paid for the On Demand version. The first 2 weeks I listened to the lectures and took notes. I spent at least 4 hours a day listening to the lectures. At the beginning of Week 3, I started doing 100 questions on the qbank and questions T1-T7 every other day and alternate it with 50 questions from the Saunders CD.

Kaplan questions were a lot harder than the Saunders questions.

My Kaplan scores:

DIAGNOSTIC TEST: 45% (I fell asleep after just after 100 some questions and didn't finish and wouldn't let me back in-----make sure you pause the exam if you want to stop because you are not allowed to access it again if you ran out of time)

T1:65%

T2:62%

T3:59%

T4:57%

T5:57%

T6:62%

T7:56%

READINESS TEST: 73%

QBANK:58% (answered all questions on the qbank)

As you can see, I didn't really average around 65%. But don't focus on the percentage because what's most important if focusing on the rationales. At first, I too obsessed over my scores. I get so upset each time I couldn't reach at least 60%. But now I can say im glad that I went over each and every rationale because I learned a lot from it.

I did pass...265 questions later but hey my license will not say "shes an RN 265 questions" lol

How do I calculate my overall percentage of the kaplan qbank, both my score and how much I have completed thus far?

Low scores

only 15 days left for RN exam . Getting average 55 on q bank of Kaplan . On q trainer I got

q1-47, 2-47, 3-47, 4-51, 5 -47. I am currently using mastery app. I am so tensed and get more worried when I see Kaplan score of others on different site. No one got so bad the way I got. What to do I want to clear in first exam. Very less time ., what to do clear. I an study hard as much as I can. Plz help me out. I don't want to fail..

It's ok I got worse scores than you. But scores doesn't matter when you're reviewing, that's the reason why you're reviewing in the first place to pass the nclex. What's important is learn from every mistake you make. There's this saying it's better to bleed in training than to bleed in the actual battle.
