My Q-TRAINER SCORES SO FAR...

Wondering if I'm doing good?

1: 57%

2: 67%

3: 57%

Just finished QT4 and I got a 55%. Not bad. At least I understand the rationales ^_^

Hello everyone,

I was wondering how you can purchase the question trainer from kaplan. Is it part of a cd-rom that you buy with a book? I got the question bank and realized that it is not the same thing. Can someone explain where to buy it exactly?

Thanks for the help!

Kwillpassnclex13,

Those are very good scores, but I wholeheartedly echo caliotter's comment: please don't get caught up in predictor scores. I did that with Kaplan (60s-70s on ALL their tests), Saunders, 2010 Davis Q&A, PDA, etc...it's only when I realized that I felt ready was I able to successfully defeat NCLEX.

As far as I'm concerned, predictor scores mean absolutely nothing. I never tell anyone what to do (you have to figure that out yourself), but answering questions and reviewing rationales was the way to go for me. Because, think about it: everyone who passes NCLEX only gets 50% of the questions right. I passed at 75 which means I missed at least 37.

Answer questions to get familiar with the NCLEX. Don't stress yourself out over scores. You'll do fine.

All the best!

You can download it from a file sharing website, I got mine from a previous NCLEX passer who gave me the link to his files. Unfortunately it isn't available anymore. Try googling it, there are lots of sources around here. ^_^

Thank you uaefan, I'm kind of getting a bit anxious about my upcoming exam but I'm keeping things positive! I read Saunders and I do Q's from DAVIS, LA CHARITY and EXAM CRAM and oh,QTRAINER on weekends! All my schoolmates passed and they're so positive about me acing it too! I'm expecting for the best! ^_^

Those are fairly good scores. Just remember that the first 3 Q trainers are based on knowlege and/or comprehension which are the easiest level of questions and Qt 3 has some understanding level questions. As you progress through the trainers the questions get harder (application/analysis level) which are NCLEX level questions. Just be sure to read the rationals on each one and you will see your scores improve. By Qt 6 and 7 shoot for 60%. If you can do that you should be ready. I took the NCLEX yesterday 75 questions 19 alt style questions, 16 of which were SATA, did the PVT trick and got the good pop up. I did the Kaplan class and read the book which really helped. Here are my final scores for Kaplan:

Diagnostic- 59

Qt 1- 48

Qt 2- 59

Qt 3- 58

Qt 4- 59

Qt 5- 61

Qt 6- 61

Qt 7- 60

87% completed Qbank- 58

Readiness test(taken at the end of class around the same time as QT 3 was taken)- 58

Hope this is of help and good luck for when you test.

Thanks so much, Pooh Bear RN. You are keeping me motivated! ^_^

Don't get caught up in the scores, instead rely upon your judgement about how well prepared you are.
Thanks cailotter3! ^_^
Good Luck

Thank you! :) took Q5 today and my score went up to 62%! :)

I had a couple of questions that were similar to Kaplan questions. Kalpan did prepare me with the style of question that nclex looks for but the whole time I was taking the exam I felt very unsure about any of my anwsers. With kaplan, some of the questions you can easily pick out but nclex was not as black and white. To be honest though, I think that's how nclex wants you to feel. I just continued to use the decision tree process and trust my gut feeling.

Pooh Bear,

I just graduated from Quinnpiac University in CT and start Kaplan in 2 day. I feel like I have so much to learn and every test is a struggle. Is it alright if I ask you a couple of questions over the next 3 weeks while I get ready for NCLEX.

Here are my scores so far.

Question trainer 1- 57%

Question trainer 2- 69%

Question trainer 3- 49%

Diagnostic test- 52%

Just wondering what you think of the scores compared....and what advise you have for me going into the Kaplan course?? I really can't see myself using the decision tree each question but I'm not sure. I hope they talk about it more the first class.

Exactly. Just Google it! I accidentally found it when I wasn't even looking for it.

Now I'm feeling more disheartened - I was hoping other people were doing worse with 4 and 5 too. I feel like I do better at the overall application questions, so hopefully I do better on 6 and 7 (taking Friday and Sat - all in one setting to get used to the length).

my tests in order of completion are

Trainer 1 : 65

Trainer 2: 52

Diagnostic: 61

Trainer 3: 54

(took kaplan course here)

Readiness: 66

Trainer 4: 57

Trainer 5:56

I know my readiness score was good, but then I've done so awful since. I hate this. Taking the NCLEX on the 13th and just want to pass and be done. Does anyone want to give me any general reassurance and tell me I'm going to be ok? ahhhh
