i am taking the qtrainers... and before starting i made sure to go over the decision tree video.... but i have come to a realization that i hardly if ever use the decision tree... only when i know nothing about the topic i start going over the decision tree..... and most of their rationales have 'think about the topic' explanation .... there r hardly any with the assess maslow abc steps.....
does this happen to anyone ???? r the strategy's any help to those who gave nclex ??? i know they must be helpful ...... but i m just not getting a hang of it

I failed using Kaplan as my study resource in 76 questions. I took the exam yesterday (3/14), and got the cc page. I didn't like the tree. You can't save patients using a tree. You need to study content in my opinion. I think Kaplan is helpful for those who are also reviewing content and focusing on content in areas that they are weak in. Go through all the systems and know disease processes, and interventions. Questions are great practice after you know content well. :)... That's my take :).
awww...... must have been hard for u .....
i completely agree with u .... i've read saunders cover to cover ... now doing kaplan qtrainers ... qt1 73% qt2 75%... and then BAMMMMM qt3 63% !!!!!!
getting me verrrrrrrryyyyyyy verrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy anxious .... now starting qt4... lets see how that goes ....
did u use only kaplan ?? or anything else ???

I Used Kaplan for my LPN-RN program. They waited too long to teach us the decision tree (they taught us in the last semester). They wanted us to use it when doing q bank and q trainers and on NCLEX. I gave up on it at the Kaplan reveiw course. It was just too much work trying to remember which branch of the tree you were on i.e. assessment versus implementation. So I chose not to use it. I passed NCLEX-RN with 75 questions and didn't even think about using the tree. I think had I actually used it, I probably would have failed! I stuck with what I know and how I usually answer questions.

I just used Kaplan. It took me a long time to get through all the qbank questions and all 7 trainers. I finished all the test and reviewed all the rationales. I didn't focus in on specific content...I was all over the place with content. I studied the rationals but I should have done less questions and more actual studying. .
As far as the tree being helpful... It didn't work for me. Your grades are good though. Your going to pass :)
awwww .... i really really pray that happens ..... studying for nclex has made me a hardcore believer !! i pray ...... if all fails then go to god :) !!!!!!!
i dont know whats gonna happen ... but i sure m working my butt off !! i just hope i score consistently in the remaining qtrainers.... it would help to boost up my confidence :)

Yes!! You started off good!! Don't focus on scores.. Just focus on what u don't know. I was so obsessed with comparing my scores with others who passed. It doesn't matter now. I just have to do better... And I'll be a better nurse learning from this. It was hard to fail. I was sad all day yesterday and I'm still sad. But I'm moving forward now. I'm getting my money back from Kaplan :) and retaking the test. It's all good :). Stay focused and confident. You will pass :)
woow i love your motivation ... go for it !! u'll surely do great .... and u know what even i m getting soo obsessed comparing my scores to those who passed :) hahaha....... relax for a few days ..... n come back to the nclex world :)
