Hi guys, I'm making this thread so we can update each other. I got the career snapshot last week, has anyone heard back for scheduling interviews yet? Good luck to everyone!

thank you!
So basically the program consists of you shadowing an RN for 3 months, sometimes you'll have 2 or 3 shifts a week. Because you'll also have shifts where you go in to practice skills and sometimes have a virtual zoom class where you'll do some additional learning like a cardiac day or a neuro day, in total you'll be having no more than 40 hours a week (they are very strict with overtime)
My cohort we had the new grad only get hired on the med surg floor oncology and ortho. Oncology floor I constantly hear that it's crazy busy and lot of my friends can't wait to leave already.

Thank you so much!
They also told us (October cohort) they are only hiring for Oncoloy and Ortho Med Surg.
Overall, what did you think of the new grad program? Did you feel supported or did they kinda push you in on the floor?

I personally feel supported, I got placed with nice preceptors the managers are nice.
you will b expected to slowly take on a full assignment
like during the first 3 weeks I was taking only 1 patient and then eventually you'll take 2 and then 3
but you'll always have the preceptor to support you and help if you have questions about documentation and medication etc etc

You made me feel so much more at ease.

Just looking through for some feedback, thanks so much! Another question- was it strictly part time? I notice you mentioned couldn't go more than 40
hours, did you have weeks pretty close to that in your orientation? Thanks 😊

Even if you're hired for part time you'll get full time hours during your training (3 months)
once you're on you're own you'll do 2 shifts a week (part time) unless you're full time you'll do 3 shifts a week

Hi there! Reaching out again! LOL I wanted to ask if the first day is business casual or do you wear scrubs? It says to wear scrubs for orientation starting Wednesday but no info on Monday. Would love feedback on what you decided to go with and if this is also the day we are taking badge pictures? Thank you!
