Kaiser NorCal Nurse Residency Fall 2023 Cohort 7

Hello everyone! I just wanted to create this for all those interested in the Kaiser Nurse Residency for new grads application that has a start date of 8/4/2023 - 8/8/2023 Winter Cohort 7 that will start on 12/4/2023.

Informational webinar for the Winter Cohort 7 will be held on 8/1/2023 at 10 a.m (PST).

next week they are expected to send emails and stuff about who got into the programs ? im so nervous and a little excited. I wish we had more info on how many people interviewed and how many are being hired. Good luck to everyone!

During my interview we were told 1300 applied, 300 were offered interviews, and 100 will be hired for the whole norcal area. It's definitely nerve-wracking!

How was your guys overall interview? Did they ask you guys specific questions? I am nervous for the results as well..

I think it went well? Hopefully! geez im such a nervous wreck hahahaha

They asked me questions revolved around my location since im based in socal. I had to clarify that I'm moving to my fiance's up north. Then they asked me about why I got into health care and to talk about a time I had to use critical thinking in clinicals. 

I would like to say it went well since they complimented my presentation and resume. But with my track record so far these compliments havent been enough to land me a job up north hahaha

But its okay! We all tried our best and that's all we can be for sure about

Did you have any Kaiser experience? In my interview there was one person who was a Kaiser lvn for a few years and they showed a lot of interest in them.

I have ICU, Med Surg, and ED experience from clinicals and did two projects based off the units

My two mentors were from Kaiser

And I did my preceptorship in Kaiser with a med surg leader so I was able to get my letter of rec from her

Yeah I heard if you work in Kaiser they do prioritize them. I only applied to one hospital and it makes me more nervous because Im not competing for any of the group hospitals

Wow I think you have a pretty good chance then! Which school did you graduate from? That is a lot of kaiser experience!

I went to Mount Saint Mary's University in Los Angeles! A small little school but I miss it so much hahahaha! How about you?

I've met some people that graduated from Samuell Merritt!
