Kaiser CRNA

Published

Hi, just wondering anyone heard from Kaiser for interview for 2008? thx.

Specializes in ICU.

Zotmurse: I got in with 2 yrs of ICU experience.

Gwapo: If you haven't done so I would recommend to be part of hospital committee/s and do volunteer work of some sort. Definitely job shadow a CRNA and if you can try to play the charge nurse role on your unit. For example, I'm part of the code blue team at our hospital and I'm a member of our code blue and ICU committee.. As for volunteer work I'm part o an organization that travels to Sinaloa, Mex and provides free health care!! Enjoy all this while you are doing this... Best of luck!

To Manlop,

I am in the program right now. You will have an orientation before school starts. Pasadena is not the only place to live around the school. Your first semester will be mostly in Pasadena. You should really consider the Housing prn option. You should have got the pamphlet from interview. If you have more question, you can messege me.

I'm planning to apply this November for Fall 2012 so I faxed my transcript and resume sometime in January 2011. To those of you who got in/got an interview, what happened after you fax them your transcript and resume? Did you get invited for counseling? They have posted the 2011 counseling dates, I was wondering if I should call for an appointment. But then I was not sure if only "the chosen few" gets to that point.. Has anybody out there been to one of those counseling sessions?

Manlop-

Congrats on your acceptance! That's awesome! I ended getting accepted at Samuel Merritt. Glad we both got in! Best of luck at CSUF...it seems like a pretty rad program :)

Incoming KPSA juniors (start fall 2011):

If you have problem finding housing for the program, feel free to email me. I can offer a few suggestions.

I am a current KPSA student. [email protected]

Hi zotmurse!

How was your Samuel Merritt interview? I'll be interviewing in 3 weeks for the 3-year option for Fall 2011. Any tips or advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Program graduates or current students: Do you know if Kaiser hospitals hire the new grads after completing this program? Or do you still have to work a couple years at a smaller hospital? Also, if anyone knows, do Kaiser hospitals hire the graduates of other CRNA programs then their own?

hey manlop, congrats, how do we get a list of the textbooks we'll need for the program? and have you received any other notifications other than that they have your check in capable hands?

Hey crowt158,

Have you been accpeted? If so, congrats as it's a HUGE accompishment. You will get an emial a couple of months before the start of the program to pick up your books at Pasadena. There is no need for you to buy any books at this point. They are all provided by the school which is sweet. KPSAN will also send you emails throughout the next few months on things that must be done before beginning the program. I recommend you check your email on a regular basis. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask and I will be glad to help. Good luck!

Hey Anastasia83,

I'm currently in the KPSAN program. You do not have to work for KP after graduating from KPSAN. However, most KPSAN graduates stay within the Kaiser system. KP also hires other CRNA graduates other than KPSAN.
