I had a very colorful teenage life and went to jail many times under a false name and age. I think I was about 14 when I first went to jail and was about 16 when I last went. I just realized that I will have to do an FBI background check when I take the state boards. Have any of you received your licenses with a juvenal criminal record? Have you sealed your records? I am 39 now and never thought my childhood past could come back to bite me... :crying2:

I am a recent LPN graduate in New York. About 5 years ago I was arrested and plead guilty to a misdemeanor (petty theft) I didn't even steal anything I was with a friend who did and automatically I was implicated as well! Thank you justice system! Anyway I was 18 at the time and because of my age my record was automatically sealed! There is no such thing as expunged in NY just "sealed". Before I applied for my license I contacted the NY BON. They stated that because my records are sealed then I do NOT have to answer "Yes" to if I was ever convicted of a crime.
