Just took my NCLEX-RN Mar 20.. too scared to do the PVT

Published

This was my second attempt.

The first time I underestimated how hard the NCLEX can be without making the effort to study. I'd heard that the Kaplan questions were "harder" than the NCLEX, so even with scores under 55 i tried to pass the RN boards. *HUGE MISTAKE*

I tried again and this time i did another review that was mainly content. This review made much more sense than nursing school.

I still practiced with Kaplan. QT6 58% and QT7 61% and Qbank quizzes would not leave the 60s range. I did get some 80s and above, but only because I finished all 1300Q and i was seeing repeats.

I bought PDA by LaCharity but scores were 35-70%, with only two chapters legitly at the 70 range or higher. I didn't do the case studies.

My study was over the Christmas/New Years break so trying to study every day was a struggle.

I'd read content but it takes me forever to finish a chapter. I thought "I need to do questions now!"

So from mid-feb to march 19, i was doing questions and reviewing my weak areas. Come to think of it, this doesn't sound like a good way of studying ):

So I took my RN Boards at 11:30am Mar 20.

I had about 20 SATA, one SATA had an exhibit/pic; 1 Math; 1 Drag&drop; 2 EKG pic questions;

I also had 4 med questions in a row around the 60mark but then they went away. and after that was psych questions.

People say when you start getting easy questions you're in trouble. When you see harder questions, you're good. But for me, they ALL seemed hard! :arghh:

I'm too scared to do the PVT or look up my license on the BON website, yet waiting for the official results is killing me...

idk what i want y'all to say... i guess im just ranting but if you have some encouraging words, i would greatly appreciate it :unsure:

Well at this point it is what it is. The result is either good or bad and not checking will not change it for the better. I do know how you feel. I didn't want to check mine either for fear I had failed. However, I literally wanted to throw up so I did it anyway and got the good pop up. I lived on Pepto Bismal for the next 36 hours waiting for my official results to post. It confirmed I had passed. :-)

It sounds to me like you may have done well. I think you should be kind to yourself and let go of the misery and check the PVT. We are here for you.

Check soo you can celebrate and breathe a sigh of relief!!!
