Hello, I just found out that I passed my nclex which I took Monday may 11th. I am so happy and thought I should share my story for those that may be nervous (who isn't!) so here goes...
first, I finished nursing school a year ago (May 5th 2014). I had some personal issues that needed addressing before I could focus on nclex. So after I fixed those it was time to take nclex. I took Kaplan and did most of the content review and all the practice tests plus about 50% of the qbank questions. I received a 61% on my readiness exam and was consistently over 60% on my qbanks. I took nclex and passed in under 90 questions. My last question was a SATA then the computer shut down. I did the Pearson vue "trick" and I received the good pop up! I just checked my quick results and I passed! Woo hoo!!!! I wanted to share some advice with you all...
take Kaplan and if not Kaplan practice questions are the best way to study. READ THE RATIONALES! Even if you selected the right answer READ THE RATIONALE! Kaplan questions were sooooooo incredibly similar to the nclex question. Some were almost identical. I also enjoyed a nice relaxing evening before the exam stuffing my face with delicious pizza.

Congrats RN! Be prepared to save lives [:
Thanks! So happy! I was terrified since it had been a year since I had graduated í ½í¸¬
Listen guys, if I can take a year off and pass then anyone can do it. I was so nervous going into the exam but I did it! Also, I didn't have as many SATA that a lot of people have reported having but I'm sure every exam is very different
Btw, some people have been saying the Pearson vue trick only works if you wait at least 24 hours. This is not true. Once the computer you are taking your Nclex on shuts down, Pearson vue knows if you passed or failed. If you want to try and reschedule your exam 30 minutes after taking it (and you failed) they will take your money. After all, it's non-refundable. It's a win-win for them. im sure there may be the ocassional glitch in the system but for everyone I know it has worked.

Congratulations on passing! Did you use any other resources to study? Also did you use Kaplan online or the live class or just the book?
I used the online "classroom anywhere". However, on h days I was supposed to be in class online, I could not get it to stream properly from my computer so I didn't actually attend any of the classrooms. I did not use any other form of study. If all you have is a review book, of any kind, focus on the practice question and most importantly the rationales. I'm not saying skip content review but I retained more content just from the practice questions alone.

Hey guys! Update!
I have been submitting applications and have gotten several call backs. I'm located in the St. Louis area and have my associates in nursing. I've heard back from almost all he major hospitals so don't listen to people who say associates degrees won't get you a job in nursing. My first actual interview is Wednesday. Wish me luck!
