Just really need to vent

I'm about to graduate in 3 weeks and I'm really excited and will be really proud to call myself a graduate nurse from the college I'm graduating from. There is only one problem. My class will be the determining class if my school gets to keep their accreditation. They have been hitting us so hard and a few weeks ago one of our instructors basically told us that we were losers, didn't care, we not motivated and that she really could care less about what happens to us. I really feel our class has been punished in our last semester because of other people's poor performances. I know my instructors want the best for us but why should we be punished because the outcome was not what our instructors wanted. We actually had an instructor tell us that we didn't even need a big facility to graduate because most of our class was not going to graduate. Real encouraging. I really hate to say this but when all you ever hear during lecture is "It's in your book, it's in your book' you begin to feel like why am I even hear I'm teaching myself anyway. Half the time I feel like I'm not learning and just there because I have to be. Anyways I just needed to vent because it's all getting to be to much. Like I said I really love my school but why are we being punished.

at 3 weeks away from graduation why are you worried about anyone except yourself? look at nursing school as a marathon. your goal is to get across the finish line. you're 3 weeks away. are you going to risk finishing because of others who aren't doing the work to get to the finish line as well? if so, then maybe you don't deserve to finish either. a big part of what you get from school is learning how to teach yourself. i'm glad you learned that because after you graduate no one is going to hold your hand or remind you to open a book and research the stuff you don't know. one of the sad things i saw over the years i worked was many nurses who thought that graduation meant never having to open a textbook again. wrong! it's unfortunate that you have educators saying such jackass comments to you. take them as resolve to work even harder to prove them you will be your own success story. be proud of your intelligence, not embarrassed for it. quit apologizing for your instructors and start taking credit for what you do. and when you do graduate take full credit for all your hard work. you deserve it. the people who didn't pass, however, can't say that they put in the same effort.

I can understand your frustration and your feelings of being put down. However, remember what one great lady, Eleanor Roosevelt said, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." Be confident in yourself and the hard work you have put into completing your RN. Graduate and hold your head high. That would be the best way to prove the nay-sayers wrong.
