just a quick question

I have been going through this site for a few weeks now, and it's been more than helpful with making a lot of decisions. I am currently enrolled in a LPN program that starts in the fall. I plan on starting prereq's in the summer and enrolling in the RN bridge program after that. My initial goal was to become a nurse practitioner, part of the reason is i always wanted to be a doctor, but im 28 years old and don't think that i can go through with a 4 year degree then med school after that. Being a nurse is something that i wanted to do for a long time, but was got caught up in another career that was very prosperous for me. But with the bad economy it has since dwindled down. After talking to family and friends that are in the medical field be it nurses and doctors. I had made the decision to become a NP, Until recently talking with a doctor who lead me to CRNA. I took a quick interest in that field and after doing more research and talking with a few CRNA's i have decided that that will be my final goal.....now my question, which i never asked when talking with them about this was, would it be benificial or worth it to get a PHD after finishing the masters. Or is it somthing that i will need. I have seen multiple answers to this question on this site and others, but i would like to ask this to CRNA's that are on this forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

D

really no one can answer this for me

What is it you really want to do? It seems as though you've changed your mind numerous times (which is definitely your prerogative), but until you figure out what it is you really want to do, it will be difficult to determine a plan of action.

If you really desire to be a doctor (or physician), then by all means go for it. 28 is not too old to start your pre-reqs for med school.
