Jus got it! Yay.. ne ways. ive been idle for a year and a half from nursing and ive jus been doing care giving to my ailing grandparents, and been a awhile since i set foot in a clinical facility since graduated. Any tips on where to start when you hav been rusty? Me being rusty doesnt make me that confident to work right away, also im afraid to start working not knowing what to do because it would be my first job. Any confidence booster out there?

First I would like to saCongratulations! ANd let me start off by apologizing because I am can be of no help. I am actually in the same boat (sort of). I graduated in 2009 from Practical Nursing school and I am just getting ready for the NCLEX-PN. I felt as if I must be the only one that this happened to. I had a number of reasons for not taking the exam, but anyways. I am scared too death to take the darn test. I am glad you posted this because it gave me confidence. I too have an ailing grandparent that I have been taking care of and now I am ready to test and get to work. I wll say this. I know that nursing is my calling and I was a very good student. Though I understand the confidence issue( I feel the same), I do know me. I would not be willing to accept any position that I am not comfortable with providing care during. Rememeber your ethics and I know that you will be a great nurse. Also, ORIENTATION is always a great thing. If all else fails you could take a refresher course. THey can be pretty pricey, but for your own sense of security it would be worth it. Good luck in whatever you choose, though I am sure you won't need it. CCongrats again.

KIKICB5 GOOD LUCK!!! I'm sure you'll do great... I am a new nurse just took the NCLEX last month and passed on 1st attempt just study hard and you can do it! RETROJG4434... I am in the same boat kind of. I have not began working under my license yet due to expecting a child very shortly so I have the same worries as well...but I figure the only thing that I can do is review my nursing school material, continue to keep in touch with old classmates for advice, pay attention to my preceptor when I do begin to work and always remember when in doubt check it out! GOOD LUCK ladies!!!!

Just read some NCLEX-PN study prep books and take the darn test lol. When you pass, look for a job. You will be oriented and will quickly be reminded of the things that you think you have forgotten. Don't be overwhelmed you can do it! And don't stress about being "rusty" because you will soon be anything but rusty when you start a job as a nurse!

You will do fine. Get your orientation and have a RN check you. ASK. you're lucky you have a licensed. God Bless yuou.

Yay !!!! :) Take one day at a time. Ask questions. Protect your license. Best wishes in your journey.
