Just got hired as a cna, are they going to fire me befofe i even start??

I recently got hired as a CNA/NAC at a hospital. During my interview, I told them that I didn't have my CNA license but that my paperwork had been submitted to the department of health.

They gave me a start date at the end of June, but the department of health didn't start looking at my application until about two weeks ago (which I sent in early May).

I explained to the hospital that there's no way I'll be able to take the test by the end of June's start date for the job and they allowed me to change my start date to July 11th.

I talked to the department of health (nursing commission) again today and they told me it will be very difficult and I'll be very lucky if I get a test date before July 11th.

Basically they told me there's no way I'll be able to take the test in time for my July 11th start date for the job.

Now I'm freaking out so much. Department of health is taking absolutely forever to finish looking over my application to allow me to take the CNA exam. I'm scared that I won't be able to test by July 11th and that the hospital is going to fire me before I even start the job! It's my fault for not submitting the application to the department of health sooner (but I didn't know about the job and knowing I needed a license until very late) but I know it's also all completely out of my control.

The hospital already moved my start date once, do you think they're going to fire me? I really wanted this job, it's been a dream for me and I'm feeling so frustrated and heartbroken that I keep coming across all of these obstacles...

Talk to the HR department and the DON. Be honest with them and flexible and they probably will be flexible with you.
