In my case...sometimes I view a thread and don't have anything to add. For example if it's a topic that I have NO CLUE about, I read what's there, but I don't reply. OR if it's a thread that just makes me mad (for whatever reason) and I have nothing "nice" to say - I say nothing at all. Other times I'm just stopping in for a quick "allnurses fix" and don't have time to reply. Also, if I've already responded to a thread and I'm reading what was said after my reply - I may not add anything and that registers as a "view". does that help?
I assume you're wondering why the "views" of a post are always greater than it's "replies?" There are numerous reasons.
I may not have anything to add.
It may be a discussion I have something to add to, but think better of it (heated topics).
It may not be what I thought it was from the title.
The title may be ambiguous, and I have to view it just to tell what it is, and then for reasons listed above I decide not to respond.
I may view it and decide I don't have enough time to respond in a manner I'd like, so I come back later.
And sometimes, those views are people coming back to a thread, to see how it has progressed or what has happened, whether they replied already or not.
Does that answer your question?

Why do some people view other peoples messages, but they never respond to them. Just wondering is it because the topics are boring or simply not enofe time to type a response?
