:yeah:I just wanted to say hello to all! I got hired on to work on a transplant ICU, but since it is not open yet I am training in the SICU. I just completed my first 3 12 hour shifts and it was great--I learned SO much! Any advice would be welcome! :heartbeat

:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeatCongrats on the new job. .sounds like a lot of fun:yeah:. I am a soon to be grad so I don't know what advice I could give. . . except from what I've heard from other experienced nurses. . and that is too be humble, but aggressive as well. You know a lot and you are an asset to whatever unit or team you join, but you need to understand that a nurse with 5, 10, 30+ years knows so much and they are a great asset as well. . don't forget to utilize and appreciate the help they offer you. . .if you act like a "know-it-all new grad. . they might just brush you to the side and let you sink when you need help. This has been drilled into my head since my first class in nursing school. . . . but it totally makes sense. I'm sure you won't have any problems though. . .you sound like a good new grad that is excited and willing to learn. . . I'm sure you'll make an amazing nurse:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat
