:down:So we had our first Peds exam today and I failed it. I've never made below a B on any exams in this program! It seems like all of the information that was on the exam was stuff that came out of the book (and wasn't covered in class). In fact, hardly any of the material from class was on the exam. I wish there was some consistency among all of the nursing classes about how they will test us. I'm just really bummed right now and disappointed. I need a pick me up!!

I'm sorry you are bummed! Our teachers have been real good to us about explaining things and they told us right up front that we are responsible for everything in the text even if they don't cover it in lecture because there is just to much material to teach it all, but I understand your frustration...it is a lot to cram in our heads! I have found that for every bad day there is an awesome day coming if that helps!:balloons:

Our first peds exam was last week, and it was pretty much the same. A lot of non-specific material that wasn't lectured on. At least it was a learning experience and we all know how to study better for the next one. Good luck to you on your next one! Mine is next week!

I know how you feel, at my school they give us All 3 exams on the same day: Pharm, Patho and Nursing and I just failed my last 3 exams!! I was crying for a whole day.. but sometimes its ok to let out a good cry!! My next exams are NOV 20 and Hopefully GOD is our SIDE!! They keep telling us there is a light at the end of the tunnel, God I hope I see it soon! Good Luck Studying!!!

Sorry for your troubles, Neej! Just beware that nursing school is all about what's not covered in class...hence the need for the reading of all those thousands of pages of material. Every peds exam I've taken has focused on growth and development - and a ton of it wasn't covered in the text.
Best of luck to you next time!! You can do it!!

Sorry to hear about your grade.
Those little guys can be a tough subject to understand. A little tip... pay extra attention to age and time. If the question has a 6 month old... 2 year old, etc...there is a reason for it! Circle it and then think about that age and proceed to answer. There is normally a specific reason why they mention age and time.
Good luck and happy studying!!
