just applied to csus..i have a question about my major!

Published

I am currently a student at a community college. I have finished all the pre reqs for the LVN program but haven't been accepted yet. I applied for the third time last month, and I wont know if I was accepted till december. My plan was to become an LVN first so that I can start working & making money, then finish my RN preReqs and then apply to the LVN-RN bridge program and eventually go get my bsn later

while I am waiting to get into the lvn program, I've been taking my preReqs to transfer to a state college and for the RN program, so if I finish these prereq classes first-then I will just go straight to RN/BSN and forget about going the LVN route.

Well, Ive come to that fork in the road pretty much. I am eligible to transfer fall 2014, so if I don't get into the lvn program this time around (which I will know within the next 2 months) then I'm just going straight to RN. I applied to CSUS a couple of days ago, but won't know if I have been accepted till March. since nursing is so impacted, on my application I put "undeclared" as my major. I was thinking that by putting undeclared that I would have a better chance of getting into the school. It will be another year before I could even apply to their bsn program anyway.

Was this a good idea, or a mistake? Should I change it once I get accepted? Should I call and try to change it now?

What csu did you apply to? I know for la, you have to put prenursing as your major but choose a second option..., I chose nutritional science(same prerequisites)
