JTCC TEAS V scores

Hi! I am also applying at JTCC for spring 16. I took the TEAS V test in May for a different nursing program. This was my score:

Adjusted Individual Score: 85.3%

Percentile Rank: National- 95th

Percentile Rank: Program- 96th

That was my first time taking the test. I don't know if I'm going to take it again for JTCC. Are you applying for the traditional track or hybrid?

Great scores! You will surely be accepted with those, why take them again?

It was my first time too, I will take them again for sure..I would like to be in the 90th percentile before applying.

I just want to be as competitive as I can. You will do great when you take the test again. Being in the 90th percentile will really help since they only require being in the 45th.

I also think it's crazy how heavily they are relying on the test this acceptance period. So essentially, someone with a 2.0 GPA and better test scores will get in over someone with at 4.0 GPA and lower test scores. That doesn't make sense to me at all...

What other program were you considering?

Yeah that doesn't make any sense to me either. Maybe they are ranking people by their test scores then making their final decision based on gpa.

I applied to Southside Regional Medical Professional School, but I did not get in. I know they based acceptance on high school courses. I didn't always do that great in high school so I am happy JTCC only considers first semester classes.

I did retake them and actually did better the first time. I was ACCEPTED and I start nursing school in January. So excited.

Can you share you score for the Teas Test that you applied to JTCC with? CONGRATS by the way!

So they look at what percentile you score nationally in each section and then over all.

My scores were:

86th% overall total

Reading 83%

Math 73%

Science 85%

English 94%

Did apply or do you plan to?

What at did you use to study for the teas?

I used the ATI handbook and I watched lecture videos for science and math concepts on YouTube.
