I just wondered if anyone else has this gripe.....
I subscribe to several nursing journals/magazines (RN, AJN, Critical care nursing, LPN, Nursing 2009 & Nursing Made Increadibly Easy). My mother is acutally the one to thank for most of my subscriptions. It seems that whenever I get a new subscription, the publisher ends up sending me 3-4 back issues and counting that as part of my YEARLY subscription. I especially have this problem with Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins. My mother just got me a new subscription for my birthday (in July) for AJN. Today I received May, June and July issues. And when referring to my label, it notes that my subscription will end May 2010.
I find this extremely frustrating. I have had repeated conversations with this publisher in particular about sending me back issues (Lippincott). They are good about fixing the problem, but I just don't think it should be allowed. This is why I usually don't renew my subscriptions after one year.
Does this aggravate anyone else?

I've had this same problem with journals I've gotten from Associations. I can't figure out why they do this.

The same thing just happened to me. I subscribed to Nursing 2009 about 2 months ago and about 2 weeks ago received 3 back issues. I find it frustrating, too.
