Hi everyone this is my first post on here....
just wondering if anyone out there has applied to the jjc fall 2014 nursing program? I just took my teas and am anxiously awaiting to see if I made it or not! Hoping to connect to anyone in the same boats as me :)

Me too! Hope that it goes well for you... and that we all hear good news soon. I'm hoping to get accepted for the day program.
Do you have any idea how long it will take?
There is another thread with more people posting..
it seems that last time they sent out emails 10 days exactly after the application deadline. It's been over that now! I am wondering though if it won't be till next week. Especially because it was president's day last monday...and I am in nurs 100 and professor said that one of the faculty members was sick so there's that too...
ugh I am dying to find out!! I check my emails all day long! I hope we have good news soon! can I ask how did you do on your teas?
I took it in the summer and got an 89 overall. When I was taking the TEAS test, the proctor kept saying that the program was so competitive only a few people would get accepted the first time. When I met with an advisor, she said the same thing .... I'm hoping that actual, accepted students can be more encouraging.
Yea I applied for the fall of 2013 last year. But I only had three of the six gen eds done, and I just found out I was pregnant with my first baby literally 4 days before I took it lol needless to say I was distracted! Anyway I got denied which I was not surprised at. I don't think it matters if it's first or second time applying I think it depends on how many points you get based in the criteria...teas composite, teas reading, how many gen eds done and GPA. I think 89 composite is really high! I got an 83 and a 90 in reading.

I will be going into my 2nd semester at JJC in the fall of 2014. This program is very competitive and quite hard. Don't listen to all of the hype because it's different for everyone. It all depends on the amount of time and effort you put into it. I had to redo my first semester simply because I was not dedicated enough my first time. I was a straight A student before I entered the RN program, but..haha those days are gone! It's not to say that it's not possible, but there is so much work and it is emotionally draining! Stay focused, utilize all of the resources that are available, make friends (with teachers and classmates), go to the skills lab as much as possible, tell your family/friends that you need their support because chances are you're going to go nuts every once in awhile, keep an open mind, and don't let the program defeat you! You've already made it this far! Good luck!
