Johnson City Area

Published

I'm going to graduate soon from an ADN program in Ohio and I was wondering how the job market is in the Johnson City area? Do hospitals hire new ADN grads? Is the area saturated with nursing schools like Ohio is? My parents live in Johnson City so that's why it's a good option for me (FYI) if Ohio doesn't work out.

I am from Virginia, but from what I know about that area; JCMC (the hospital in JC) is a Magnet hospital. They prefer BSN (at least 80% BSN to retain Magnet status) and can get it because ETSU is in JC and there are other BSN programs around there (Milligan and King). Wellmont might be better, but the same with them. They can get BSN people. They aren't Magnet; but there really is no difference in pay between ADN and BSN at these hospitals (like one dollar difference an hour) and they start them at 18/hr.
