FELLOWs OPPORTUNITY FOR SCHOOL NURSES
The Johnson & Johnson School Health Leadership Program is a prestigious, FREE professional development program for school nurses and their colleagues. Teams of school Nurses and an executive sponsor will receive knowledge, skills, and mentoring designed to empower school nurses to be leaders within their community's educational and health services teams. Participants will graduate as Johnson & Johnson School Health Fellows with the ability to effect positive health change in their communities.

The Johnson & Johnson School Health Leadership Program is accepting applications for the 2016 Summer Institute. The program is designed by Rutgers, Center of Alcohol Studies in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson and in partnership with the National Association of School Nurses. Applicants are responsible for travel expenses. Team applications are due November 20, 2015.

i'd love to do this - but being a one man band here, i don't think i'd ever qualify.

Why would you say that? It is a team application. Teams can be district wide, region wide, state wide. It requires a minimum of two nurses and one community partner. Community partners have been from the school administration, public health, non profits, foundations, YMCAs, community organizations, lead school nurses, state government, ........

so given the topic - alcohol studies - would it be logical to incorporate a neighboring district and perhaps a DARE police officer that we share (the neighboring district nurse and I) if everyone were game - you know - if i could get everyone on board...

The Johnson & Johnson School Health Leadership Program is a highly competitive, free, professional development program for school nurses and their community/school partners. Designed by Rutgers University in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson, this nationally recognized 18-month fellowship program empowers school nurses and community/school partners to become leaders within their schools and community health services teams.
The Fellowship program includes online and in person learning opportunities, including participation in a July 6-day residential institute.
School nurse teams from communities across the country are invited to apply NOW to begin the fellowship in the spring of 2016. Accepted applicants will have all educational expenses, excluding travel to New Brunswick NJ, paid for and receive CEU's for their participation. All education offered through the program is in partnership with the National Association for School Nurses (NASN) and CEUs are awarded.
