Hi. I am so glad to see that someone start a thread! I applied to Howard County General Hospital. I start at the end of March. I am on the IMC unit (step down ICU). Anyone else starting? It would be nice to hear from other people. How was orientation?
hi nursemayb ,
I got into a new grad Johns Hopkins Nurse Residency: Medsurg/ Nelson the bridge - MICU. and at Mayo Clinic for Medsurg/ oncology. I can't decide which one. Did you do NEW GRAD JHH? If so please some recommendations, and your thoughts, staff, is the program hard...etc ?
compared to salary Mayo paid better JHH,
compared to relocation also Mayo is better.
Mayo 10,000 for 1 year commitment- JHH 5000 2 years commitment
compared to tax: Minnesota better tax than Maryland
Minnesota is safer than Minnesota
Hi! I'm going to be applying for new grad positions in a few months, and I noticed that on one of the listings for a nurse residency SICU bridge program, they included in the details that new grad will transition to the SICU 16-24 months after the original hire date and that nurses have to maintain full-time status for two years following the transfer. Is this the same for the CCU? And would you happen to know what happens if the two-year requirement isn't met?
I am post interested in the CCU program, so if you have any thoughts you'd like to share about the work culture of your unit and the hospital in general, the residency program, benefits, cost of parking, accessibility by transit, etc, anything would be great!
