  1. Hi. I am so glad to see that someone start a thread! I applied to Howard County General Hospital. I start at the end of March. I am on the IMC unit (step down ICU). Anyone else starting? It would be nice to hear from other people. How was orientation?
  2. Hi. I went to global to get my lpn. Now I will be to be attending standard to do the bridge program. I didn’t want to but I couldn’t get in to the Ccbc bridge program here they said they had an extremely high number of applicants this cohort which they said was unusual
  3. Thanks for the insight. I will try Harford the other ones had extra prerequisites that I do not have
  4. It’s OK. I wish you much success. I will see what other options I have and what other places to apply too.
  5. Yay good luck! I didn’t get in ?
  6. She said the program wasn’t hard for her, she said most of the people who may have had more difficulty for the program was brand new nurses and went straight into the program. She said she did reduce her work schedule from full time to part time.
  7. My friend did the Transition program there and she said she found out a few weeks after the deadline. She graduated this past December from the program
  8. That is good that you did the LPN program there. I saw that they will chose the people who did their LPN program if everything else was the same such as GPA, TEAS etc. I didn’t know it was that many applicants!
  9. Hello, I have been searching threads and was wondering had anyone applied to the LPN to RN transition program at CCBC for fall 2021??
  10. Oh wow, I didn’t know that the transition program will stay at Dundalk. I thought once you pass the transition class you got to pick either Essex or Catonsville. My husband cousin graduated from Harford community college last year. Good luck!
  11. Yay! I hope to see you in the transition program. Do you know which campus you want to go to?
  12. Hello, I’m hoping to get into the transition program
  13. Good Morning, I need some work advice. I currently am located in the state of Maryland. I am a LPN (LVN) my current employer has LPNs working doing hospice home care for patients who have symptomatic crisis (uncontrolled pain, agitation, etc.) that will require us to be present in the home. We also have a inpatient unit in several established hospitals that the company prefers RNs to work but will use an LPN on the unit when they are short staffed. LPNs do not get paid shift differential for working required rotating night and weekend shifts. So when we are going to assist on the unit they label us a standby staff just in case a home care patient requires crisis attention. So while the LPNs are on the unit on standby they stated that LPN's can give the RNs patients medications, do the assessments for them and document on the assessments online and assist doing ADL care. In the event that we are needed for a home care patient RN will just add a note to the patients that we have assessed and documented on. The question is am I wrong for not feeling comfortable documenting on a patient that is not mine and leaving trust in another nurse to come and add any pertinent information should there be a change? Secondly, we are not getting paid differential like the RNs on the unit cause we can not technically take the patient cause we are on standby for a need of a home care patient. We can take a transfer of patient from the home to the inpatient unit which is a lengthy process and not get shift differential like the RNs either. Please I need advice on what to do or not to do. I have no problem helping and assisting but this situation seems unfair.
  14. Hi All! I was just wondering if ne one will be going to Global Health Training Services in VA in September from the Maryland area? Thanks
