I recently found out that I was accepted into Johns Hopkins ABSN program, and if I accept I'll be starting this June as part of the 2015 cohort. I really want to do this, but I have four young kids who will be 8yo, 6yo, 3yo and 18 months when I start. I do have a good support system, e.g. older kids in school, younger ones in full time day care, and my in-laws have offered to watch the kids in the evening / night alongside my husband. I'm trying to pump myself up to do this, but I'm having anxiety attacks over whether I'll be able to manage the craziness of an ABSN program, and one from Hopkins at that. Has anyone else attempted this and survived? If so, I'd really appreciate any tips and strategies.
On a separate note, if you are a graduate of the Johns Hopkins ABSN program, was it worth it for you and how easy was it for your to land your nursing job of choice upon graduation?

I was recently accepted to the same cohort (congrats!). And while i don't have any firsthand experience to give you, my friend is in their current program. She told me that there are lots of people who are nontraditional students. Ones with families, ones who havent' been back to school in quite some time, etc. So i definitely think it's possible! I think it'll definitely be hard for you but like you said, you've got a good support system it sounds like so i think if you can hold out for one year you'll be good to go!
