Hey all I need some advice about John Hopkins Bayview. I am looking to relocate to maryland and some recruiters were at this jobfair I attended. Can you maryland nurses help me out? Has or does anyone work here who can give some advice..Also what are some good areas to look for rental homes or townhomes... thanks

I knew a nurse that worked at Bay View and liked it. Maryland is a nice area, imo because there are so many facilities. Real estate is expensive here so I would guess that rents are pretty high also but don't know for sure. Good luck, Jules

If at all possible, go as a Travel RN - that will solve your housing expense problem. It's a super city - I was born and raised there.. the Bayview area is a mixture of ethnic groups (laid back, casual but hard workers and proud). The center of downtown (theaters, restaurants, etc.) is superb and the hospitals in that part of town are great to work for.
One important CAVEAT that you need to know: taxes are steep - you will pay state tax from every paycheck PLUS an additional 50% (unless they increased it) for City tax (applies to all counties in Maryland) - forewarned is forearmed. Good luck - let us know how it goes.
thank you sooo much that info really helped. I never thought about going as a travel RN
