Nurses General Nursing

I am just wondering if there are as many nursing jobs out there as people say. I have looked online for jobs in areas around where I am from and there isnt much ever posted in the newspaper. Is it because of the bad economy right now or is there not as big of a nursing shortage as we have been told?
