I have been considering moving to the Northwest but it looks like the job market is terrible up there. What is the job situation like in Seattle? If it helps I am an ER nurse RN with 1 year experience. I got my degree through an ADN program. Thanks in advance.

Hi! I don"t know if this helps with your decision but I am an RN in Eastern WA state. The job market here in my area is HORRIBLE. The only jobs open right now are $22-$24/ hr for RN. Many clinic and SNF jobs are only open to MAs and LPNs.
I do see ads for travel nurses on the Westside (Seattle area) all of the time and various ads for the major hospitals too. I think with your experience you will do ok; just keep to the Westside of the state.
As an FYI-WA state has several university level nursing programs so when you apply you will be up against a lot of BSNs- make sure you have a good cover letter and resume made to compete.
Seattle is a beautiful place and has tons of clinics and hospitals- I wish you luck!

Swedish, harborview, overlake are $28+ for one year experience. Evergreen $27+. We have unions up here-$22 would never be tolerated. I've never even seen that, not for hospital RNs.
I've seen plenty of jobs up here for people with at least one year experience...Oh, and nobody up here cared about ADN/BSN. It never came up during my interviews...
