job interviews & dating

Published

i bet this topic has been done before, but i haven't seen it...so lets revisit it!yay!

is it me or is going on job interviews a lot like the first stages of dating?

in both dating and job hunting, you put yourself out there by letting the world know you are looking for a new love or a new job. when you finally do find an exceptional candidate, you go through a series of questions hoping that this person or this job is the right fit for you. you leave the date/interview and go through anxiety hoping that you said the right things during your brief encounter and watch the clock tick by as you wait for that other persons call.

sometimes you go on second or third dates/ interviews, to give you and that other entity reassurance on your decision. each and every time, it doesn't get any easier. when you finally do find the right one, you lay down your expectations to the object of your desire and hope that they agree to the things you say or come to a compromise.

i don't know about you, but i feel like they are very similar. The anxiety sure does feel the same. what do you think?

I definitely do think they sound similar now that I think about it! All that anticipation and hoping the other person liked you and that you said all the right things. Also you only get one first impression and it is very hard to change people's minds after that first impression whether dating or interviewing!
