This afternoon I have my first interview for a nursing job! It's with the hospital that paid my tuition (fulfilling my end of our contract) and they've asked me to choose my top 2 floors to help them place me. I'm going to ask for PCCU (med/surg stepdown) and cardiac ICU (they probably won't place me here, because it's rare to put a new grad in ICU). It's by no means a sure thing that I'll be hired, much less that I'll get the floor I want, because the hospital is actually on a hiring freeze right now. My only worry is that after all this waiting to interview, if they don't hire me, I'll be so far behind in submitting applications to other hospitals that I'll never get hired.
Oh well, wish me luck, at least I have an interview!

Best of luck to you!! :)
The interview went well. I answered their questions without too much hemming and hawing or stumbling over my words. Unfortunately the hospital is on a hiring freeze. I'm supposed to call them once I pass my NCLEX to see if there's anything open, and if not, it's going to be end of July/beginning of August before I'm actually offered a start date. So that sucks. But at least I won't be waiting a year+ with no certainty at all, like some grads I've read about on here.
