So prior to starting nursing school I had worked at a personal care home as a med tech/care giver. I worked there for 5 years and never had an issues with attendance or any write ups or anything negative. The year that I began school again our facility had a lot of staffing issues and a lot of changes went on within the facility. I had originally worked FT but when I began school I dropped down to PT with the agreement with my DON and administrator that I would work every Wednesday and every weekend since I wasn't in school or clinical those days. Well due to the staffing issues my DON continued to schedule me on days I was in school and hours I was unable to meet. Long story short, they ended up being call offs because I could not find a replacement nor be able to make it to work on time (school was until 4- shifts were 3-1130) and I maxed out on call offs due to it which in turn caused me to be terminated from employment. I recently was offered an interview at their skilled nursing home side (same company, different hiring process though). I'm well aware of the fact that they could ask me and probably will about my leaving the other facility and the reasoning behind it. I am not one who ever calls off nor do I have issues with being late or otherwise. It was just that the facilities demands weren't something that I could meet and unfortunately they weren't able to work with me (which I understand). I'm not quite sure how I can put a "positive spin" on this or explain myself. I absolutely want this job. I love the company and I love the facility and just want to make sure I don't mess this up or at least explain it in the best possible way.

You left because you were unable to juggle the demands of school and the job, scheduling conflicts forced you to put all of your energies into school. You recognized you were no longer able to deliver the same quality of care with the demands of school and course work....
