Job Application Goals and Objectives

Published

I am applying for a job and one of the requirements is that I submit a paragraph of nursing goals/objectives. The application is for a new graduate nurse postition that has a year long intern program. Please help me with what some acceptable goals/objectives would be, I am stuck!

Thank you!!

Why not try coming up with a few of your own first, then asking for feedback here, instead of trying to get other people to write your application for you?

Please allow me to offer some suggestions (it's called helping someone which is one focus of any professional forum).

An objective statement needs to include your professional "target" (tailored to the specific position you are seeking) as well as tailored to the facility you are applying to (Office, Hospital, NH, AL, HHC, etc..) as well as any specific department (OR, ICU, ER WC, etc...). Your post unfortunately does not give any definitive direction you are aiming for. If you can post what area of nursing you are applying for, perhaps I can offer some help.

Always change up your objective to be specific to the position.

Being a new grad is a positive thing and allows you to move in just about any direction; therefore do not be nervous about "objective statements" and "new grad" in the same statement; you already have a lot to offer!!

Will be happy to help.
