It depends on the facility. By you saying that, does that mean that you already have a job lined up and that they are jst waiting for you to pass the boards before you start? If so, it would be best to ask the facility itself. I have classmates that were able to star t"working" (orienting them etc) while they're waiting for their license. Which means they already know that they passed. It's good that you have a job waiting for you cus a lot of time, it's really hard to look for one. But don't feel too stressed just study and do what you have to. I'm sure you will pass. Good luck!
I like your profile pic, by the way! :)
Yes, I have a start date (two weeks after I take boards) so I would assume that I could at least start orienting...... I know I SHOULD ask the facility but of course I think of these questions in the middle of the night as I'm studying. Lol.
And thank you for the kind words, I hope hope I pass!!!!!!

Hello everyone! I am (finally) scheduled to take the NCLEX later this month. My only concern is, how long does it take before I can legally start practicing as a nurse (assuming I pass....
I take boards on the 24th and am supposed to start my new position on the 7th. Is that enough time? I know I won't just jump right into patient care right away, but I am wondering if perhaps the facility would mind if I did not have a license/# in hand when I start?....
Also for those of you who have jobs lined up, do you feel more pressure than if you did not? I almost wish I would've waited till I passed to start looking but "everyone" told me to start ASAP so I did & that's fine. But I have all this PRESSURE on me, from the job, the boards, my family, blah blah.
My head is going to explode
Anyone been through this or can help me out???
