Has anyone here ever been to Jersey College and experienced shady business? Grade tampering and financial aid discrepancies.
So here's the deal. When we take exams or quizzes we are not allowed to see the actual hard copy. We do go over the correct answers afterwards but grades are not adding up to what we know we put down as correct answers. Grades are passed out weeks later on a scrap piece of paper and we have to sign a document saying that the grade is correct. There is a stigma at this location that suggest speaking your mind and getting on the bad side of an instructor will result in a failing grade. Which leads me to believe that's the reason some students are considering bringing in gifts and lunches for certain instructors.
Also, everyone's financial aid disbursment check was the exact same amount. How is that possible? Students had to sign a form to receive the check only to be escorted by a staff member to a bank near by to cash it and hand it back over for itemized charges that didn't make any sense at all. The staff member would stand outside of the bank while you go in and cash your financial aid check and then take the amount from the student. What's going on here?

As with any nursing school that relies on valid assessment measures, Jersey College is very protective about ensuring the reliability of our exams. Therefore, we have established a secure exam review policy which is distributed to all of our students. As such, a formal review of the grades and exam itself is available to all students that seek it. Our campus directors, deans, program chairs, and Associate Deans are always available to help our students succeed and provide guidance when challenges come up. Students that take advantage of these individuals are generally those that find a way to accomplish their education goals.
At Jersey College, we are very diligent about properly administering our fiduciary responsibility to our students and the funds received on their behalf. Should you have any concerns about your funds, please be proactive about discussing the matter with your financial aid planner, campus director, or our Director of Financial Aid. We are here to help our students with any situation in order to help them successfully achieve their goal of becoming a nurse.
After carefully reading through my student on-boarding handbook, reviewing of exams and quizzes were no where to be found. Can you please explain the policy about reviewing exams/exam grades to me. Or does the policy differ between locations? Do you have a contact number? I would love to speak with you.
Chain1,
Thank you for your questions. First, I encourage you to meet with your Campus Director, as they will be able to quickly answer your inquiries and explain any and all policy questions you may have.
Jersey College has established policies and procedures that are uniform from campus to campus. Our Secure Assessment Policy is provided to all students at orientation at which time the students sign an attestation confirming their receipt of this policy. Additionally, it is not uncommon to find a copy of the policy in your classroom.
Again, Campus Directors, Deans, Program Chairs, and Associated Deans are always available to help and answer student questions. For any further questions, please send a Direct Message (DM) through twitter to @jc_questions
This is what I get when I talk to anyone at jersey college. No one can answer a question. To this day I still have not been able to view any of my exams or quizzes. This is not because I have not followed a chain of command but because they are not allowing me to. This isn't right.

This all does seem a little fishy. Have you completed your program here? Is this a school you would recommend?
I am no longer in this program. After passing all of my classes with a B average, I could not defeat there exit exam. Half of my class failed this test as well. The other half that passed didn't know how they did it. They gave us an option to re-take a few classes to be eligible for the exit exam again but financially I couldn't afford it. I will be doing a full youtube review soon and I will share the link as well. I have a lot to share. Beware of Jersey College....they should be investigated.
S/n. This may not be happening on all campus locations so talk to some of the attending students at the location you're interested in. They'll be the most honest.

@Chain1 - She asked you to refer to the Secure Assessment Policy as it details how to review your exam. Sure, claim it may not be SUPER DUPER easy to review your exam after a test, but don't make it seem like you CAN'T...
You: Excuse me.... I would like to review my recent exam.
Staff: Okay! If you see here in the Secure Attestation Assessment Policy, you can request to review your exam with the instructor by filling out this form here. You may also fill out another form to attend the informal review.
You: WAHHHHH WAHHHHH. THEY DON'T LET YOU SEE YOUR EXAMS!!!
Sounds like someone doesn't know how to follow directions...
Anyways, hope this are working out for ya!

I'm aware of how to review an exam. They didnt produce a hard copy of the actual test that "I" had taken. They handed me a blank test and read questions from the test to see if I had answered them correctly. You have no idea how this campus operates.
