Jersey college readmission

Hello, I was going to Jersey college since august 2017, last term I had a family emergency wihich made me loose focus on med aurg 1, on my final couse grade I had less than 70 so I was out of the program. They told me if I can reapply by writing an essay and maybe I can get accepted again. I would like to know if this is true or it just BS from the school.
