Jefferson Fact Admissions

Published

Hi!

I'm applying to Jefferson's FACT Program this fall. Any opinions on the program from current FACT students or fellow applicants? Also, would anyone mind sharing their undergrad major/GPA and/or prerequisite GPA. I had a 3.7 as an undergrad, but I'm worried my prerequisite grades will be considered subpar if I earn only Bs.

Excited to hear from you all...

I was accepted into the FACT program for 2010. My undergrad major was Biology and my GPA was a 3.2. I graduated from my MPH program, concentrating in community health/prevention, with a 3.93. I earned a 4.0 in all of my pre-requisite classes. The FACT program admits students of various educational backgrounds and experiences so it's not just about grades. That being said, grades are important, particularly the grades you earn in your pre-requisite classes. Try to aim for A's in those classes, but a B here and there isn't the end of the world either. Good luck! :-)

Hi MPHgirl,

Thank you for sharing! It's always helpful to know what type of students are admitted into the program. I'm not sure I'll be able to pull a 4.0 GPA for my prerequisites, but I'll do my best!

Congrats on getting into the program, and please let us all know how you like it!

Also, would you mind sharing where you went for your B.S. and Master's?

I earned my BS at the University of Puget Sound, a private liberal arts college in Washington state. My MPH was earned at Drexel University in Philadelphia. You never know. You may surprise yourself and get a 4.0 in your pre-requisites. I definitely surprised myself! :-)
