Ivy Tech - Sellersburg?

U.S.A. Indiana

Specializes in ICU.

Hello all :D. I was just wondering if anyone on here is attending/or has attended Ivy Tech Sellersburg? I just transfered from IU Southeast and was hoping to find some opinions on Sellersburg's ASN program. I have read through a lot of the Ivy Tech threads but haven't noticed many people from Sellersburg. So anyone attending or with knowledge/opinions of Sellersburg please drop a line! :typing

Thanks!

I'm enrolled at Sellersburg and live in the area, but am taking my A&P I class this semester at Ivy Tech-Madison due to scheduling. Hopefully I'll be able to take classes at Sellersburg after this semester, so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread :)

I am a LPN student at Ivy Tech in Sellersburg. What were you wanting to know exactly? Unfortunately, I am not on much because of lack of time.

I have applied for the RN program at Sellersburg and have not seen or heard anything about the program either. I am wondering how many seats are available in the program and what the cut off scores have been in the past? I have previous undergrad degrees and a MS in Mental Health and am more worried about getting into nursing school than I was graduate school.

Don't Go! My daughter is a student and they have had several staff changes. (An indication of problems.) Communication from the school is terrible.

My daughter is stuck finishing at Ivy Tech but it is really not worth your time and money. You get less than you pay for - ask any nursing student that had to deal with no roof over their classroom area from the ice storm until now.

Yikes! That worries me. I did see on the website that they are hiring for numerous positions in the nursing school. I have been trying to get some info as far as how many they accept and what has been the past cut off points? When you look on the Ivy Tech Message Board they say contact the nursing admissions director rather than discuss and distribute misinformation but, when you call they are very short and do not give any answers.

I'm not sure what your options are but I would not go to this campus for nursing. As I stated previously, it has been a waste of her time and our money. You would be better served at IUS than at Ivy Tech.

Thank you. I have started exploring some other options. I am actually going to be living in Louisville and had considered U of L's accelerated program but heard bad things there as well. I am also waiting for a few calls from some private colleges in the Louisville area.

I am from Indiana but currently live in Orlando and when I began looking I spoke to some nursing recruiters at the Louisville area hospitals and they all kept mentioning Ivy Tech? As I applied and continued to inquire for information I have noticed that there are many unknowns.

I will keep exploring my options. Thanks again.

Your probably going to have some issue or something you don't like with any school you go to. Everyone you talk to, regardless of which school they attended, has something bad to say about it. Trust me, I've probably talked to a nurse that has attended every school at this point. It's more like picking your poison and figuring out what you can tolerate versus what you cannot. Good luck.
