I graduated in March as an lvn and I did not participate in the iv certification class. I live in central California.I was wondering if this would hinder me in getting a job? Do lvns need to be iv certified? Interested in knowing if other lvns are iv certified or not.
It will depend on the position you are seeking.I recommend you look for a class to enhance your marketability.Contact the program you graduated from to start.
Where I work, in Ca, LVNs can not touch IV's regardless of certification (may flush the line, that is it)
But this varies from facility to facility.Go to the California BON website and familiarize yourself with your nurse practice act.You need to know exactly what you are legally clear to do in your state.
