Hello!
I am new to travel nursing and have not yet signed a contract for my first assignment, however I am speaking to several agencies. I have a question regarding itinerant taxes- I understand what a tax home entails and do not plan on maintaining one. I understand that due to my itinerant status, I will be taxed on all income, including meals/incidentals and housing. How does this work with agency provided housing? I'm not incredibly tax-savvy and don't understand how I will be paying the taxes on agency provided housing- will I have to pay it all at once when I file, or will what the agency pays in rent and utilities be taxed and I make
up the difference? Any insight would be so appreciated. Thank you!

The right way for the agency to do it is withhold taxes on your paycheck for the value of provided housing per pay period. Of course you can still take the housing stipend in lieu of provided housing and this will have tax withheld just like your hourly compensation. Which is exactly the same thing as my first sentence!
Thank you! That makes more sense.
