Issues within periop nursing

Hi guys,

I was wondering if several of you could name a few issues that happen in periop nursing. I am to write an essay on an issue, however I would like to choose a major and interesting issue I can write 2000 words on rather than a more minor one.

Any advise would be great.

I am not sure that I understand your question.. do you mean issue as related to OR work, OR staff relations, or any OR related topic?

I would suggest (patient warming) room temp etc. Normothermia as it relates to wound infection etc.

I believe it is any OR related topic. Thanks for your reply :) that was the topic I was leaning towards.

The use of lasers in the OR is also interesting.. could focus on laser safety issues, types as holmium, CO2 lasers etc.. From eye wear to fire safety to laser log, uses of laser etc.
