As a nurse nearing retirement, I think getting your BSN would be almost mandatory! You have much more opportunity w/BSN. I think - and this is just my opinion - that soon an ADN will be treated like LPN, and BSN will be considered the "RN".........I only have my ADN, and have seen opportunities pass me by because I didn't have the BSN. However, that was my choice. And you can work and go to school at the same time.......and many hospitals help pay for it!
Good luck!
Bobarb I notice you're from WI. Do you know how much in WI employers prefer BSN over ADN? Just wondering because I'm about to start an ADN program in south-eastern WI (well respected and accredited, I don't have the means right now to do a BSN program) and I'm just worried if I'll even be able to find a job as an RN with an ADN when I get out of school, I plan on going back for my BSN right away though.

Is it worth it to go from an associates RN to a bachelors degree? If so, is online a good choice or not?
