Is it worth it to become a PMHNP in NY?

Published

I know I am getting ahead of myself but I wanted to know from any Nurse Practitioner's out there if t is worth it to become a PMHNP with all the over saturation there seems to be with nursing, will I be like a lot of grads unable to get a job or is this only for ASN or BSN educated nurses? I am also leaning towards becoming a PT and I feel I could get a job very easily in that area but if I had to choose my dream job it would be PMHNP.

Being a PMHNP is a dream job just about anyplace. I'm in a small podunk town in NM for 3-4 months working at a really nice community mental health center. It's a nice place to work.
