Is my teas too low to get accepted?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I have a cumulative gpa of 3.55, science pre requisites of 4.0 (chem, anatomy, physio, and microbiology), AP English credit of 4, and a first attempt TEAS score of 78.7 (no, i didn't study at all for it. i just took it once to see how it was). I'm going to be applying to pretty much all the ADN -
RN
programs in Los angeles county, including GCC, PCC, LACC, etc.

Distance isnt really an issue, so long as the school is, at max, an hour away from my home, which is in glendale.

Do my chances look good, or is the TEAS score too low?

So far it looks fine. However, every school has its own minimum TEAS score. Contact the school/s you will be applying to and ask what their minimum TEAS score is.

Yup.

There's really no way for us to answer this question. We have NO idea what the minimums are for your school, or what the average admitted student looks like. One program I am applying to has a minimum of 60, the other has an admitted range of 78-98, but the average they take is an 85 or so. Some schools don't require the TEAS at all. Some do but care more about your pre req GPA.

Your best bet is to call the school and ask what the average admitted student looks like.

Why didn't you study? Your score isn't bad by any means (at least I don't think so), but the TEAS can be the difference between a good application and a STRONG application. At least where I'm applying, LOTS of people get 4.0 pre-reqs (myself included). Did you just not have time?
