I am new to Virginia and live in the Hampton area. Sentara Careplex is less than a mile from my house. Is it a good place to work? I will be working as an agency RN. How do they treat agency nurses?

Hi,
I live in Norfolk and work for a Sentara hospital. While I don't know specifically the Careplex hospital, I can tell you that Sentara treats their agency nurses well. I can't say that you will like the people you work with or the hours, but the pay is good and the training is exceptional.
Good luck.

which hospital do you work at? what's the starting pay?
I work at Leigh on the telemetry/med unit. Starts for new grad is $19.60/hr. If you work eves, nights or weekends, there is a nice shift diff.
Thanks al7139 for the info. It is hard to find anyone online who works at Sentara Complex in Hampton. But I do appreciate your comments. You kind of alluded to it, but..are you an agency nurse? If so, what is the name? Is it a good one? I am looking to re-enter the world of agency nursing, but I am trying to find a dependable company.

I work there (careplex) and as far as I know there are not any agency nurses working in the hospital.

Careplex is a nice facility, but I do not think any of the sentara hospitals use agency nurses. They have an internal resource pool, but I would really check about agency, I am not sure they use any
