Is seasonal work usually by contract or permanent? My wife and I (both RNs) have been looking at seasonal work in Arizona but our first in depth look at a job shows you have to apply each year if you want to come back. In this tough economy I don't feel like giving up my nice Job in San Diego for a seasonal position that would only be guaranteed 6 months or so. It's going to be tough enough to get jobs in same area. We do want something bad though because we want to spend our off time in her native country of the Philippines.

Seasonal is not permanent. You have to reapply every season.

I've worked seasonal employment (in the retail field.)
