Is nursing for me?

Published

Hello everyone!

I'm new here and to nursing in general. I've been working in the insurance industry for 4 years and I really liked my job. I've been planning to open my own business as an insurance agent. However, I was admitted to the hospital due to my pregnancy issues. And being here has made me want to become a nurse. I love what a nurse does and how much they do for the patients. I'm 23 years old and I've no college credits. I always wanted to become a doctor in my country (I'm from Mexico) but my father made me move to the U.S. when I was 15 years old and all the requirements here felt like too much at the time. So I gave up my dream and I was ok with that, until now. I have some dental assistance experience and I was a caregiver for 3 months. And I liked the job, but felt it was too much for the pay. So I went back to the insurance. However, now that I'm pregnant. I decided to quit my office job and go back to school. What do you think, should I go for nursing? If I've no college credits at this time, how long will it take me to get a BA in nursing? as a nurse are you able to spend time with your family?

Also I have been study a guide for the HEIS exam and I love it. Thank you for your time:)
