I am skilled to do EKGS, Phelbotomy, Accuchecks, take notes on patients, interview patients, chart, and do vitals. In our state LPNS just lost job's at our biggest rehabilitation center in the state. The surrounding states still hire LPNS especially within big city area's. Average pay is about $55,000 and class is a year long. Then able to take a six month class become a nurse. The program includes all the perquisites for nursing. Also believe can skip associates program can bridge to a BSN program.
Only issue in our state is PCAS are taking over a lot of LPN job's in our state. Appreciate the feedback.

I worked at the Cle Clinic and they want their nurses to get master degrees. They still utilize LPNs in home care, but I understand that is about all. Even the other smaller hospitals in the Cleveland OH area want their ADN nurses to go back for BSN. I was an STNA/nurse tech, successfully completed year one of RN training - when the Cle Clinic closed the school & we were transferred (semester two). I wish now that I had taken a year long LPN program FIRST, then bridged to RN. Unfortunately, my father was very ill (hospice -- but better now!!) so I had to leave school to care for him...and I did not return within the 2 year time-frame...so I need to begin all over 4 years later. I am considering LPN, where I am told they make around $17 per hour as a new grad, and RNs (associate degree nurses) that I know are starting around $47k per year (divide by 2080 hours for a ROUGH hourly rate) at the Cleve Clinic. I hope that helps!
Apoligize my post acted funny. I am worried if I would find a job or not. A lot of the associate nurse's are filling up the LPN programs in rehab settings and nursing care positions outside of health care. Where BSN nurse's are taking the job's within the hospitals. Most of our hospitals only hire BSNs. There was talk of getting rid of the ADN program and changing it to an associates LPN program. The program is 22 month's, LPN program. Nursing part time associate program is 30 month's with perquisites included.
