Hi! I graduated RN school in May 2021 and got my first job at a cardiology clinic. I was a medical assistant while in school and am comfortable with the medical office setting, so it’s a good transition for me as a new grad. My ultimate goal is to be a cath lab nurse, so I feel that I need to transition to the hospital setting in med-surg as soon as I can. I feel I may get bored easily with this clinic job, unfortunately, because it is a lot of the same job duties as what I did as a medical assistant.
My question is, would it be difficult for me to transition to the hospital setting with clinic experience only? I know RN’s are always needed in the hospital setting but I am just looking for advice and others’ experiences. I am a new grad, so the nursing life is all new to me. Thanks!
